Tuesday Schedule
“Shiai” (Competition) Training Class
6:00pm -7:30pm
This class focuses on specific techniques and conditioning for Judo Competition. Students must be approved by instructors to attend this training as it is not intended for beginners. Students MUST attend regular classes in order to participate in this class.
Friday Schedule
All White belts and Beginners 4 years to 17 years old (4-5 year old Yellow Belts)
4:45pm -5:30pm
1/2 the mat will be used for little kids (4 years old to 11 years old) and 1/2 the mats will be used for bigger kids (12 years old to 17 years old).
This class will focus on BASIC Judo techniques (5 throws, 3 pins, falling techniques). Each White belt will be tested (at their own pace) and can move on to the next intermediate class (listed below) after passing the test for Yellow Belt.
6 years old to 11 years old Yellow Belts and Above / All Higher Needs Special Developing Students
5:30pm-6:45pm
1/2 the mat will be for intermediate and advanced kids 6-11years old – this class may be split into intermediate (yellow belts) and advanced (orange belts and up)
1/2 the mat will be for our Higher Needs Special Developing students – Beginning and Intermediate students. We will have more room and more helpers at the class with the goal to help each student (at their own pace) move into the intermediate/advanced classes. We will focus on coordination, strength building, conditioning, and basic Judo techniques.
12 years old to 17 years old Yellow Belts and Above
6:45pm-8:00pm
No students under 12 years UNLESS the student is a Mentor/Joshu and volunteers with our other classes (Generally, 10 year olds will be the youngest students in this class with some safety exceptions for height and weight). A strong emphasis will be placed on Randori/Shiai training.
